Let me introduce myself: I’m Summer.
I’m a girl who’s tired of trying to be someone I’m not to be liked and accepted by others.
This is why I’m here. I find that women tend to judge each other a lot. We look around at the people around us and make assumptions about what others are like based on what we see. But often what we see is not a good representation of the person on the inside. If you’re like me, we want to be loved for who we are for real, flaws and all, not just for who we put on when we get dressed in the morning.
The Bible says, “For God shows His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
That means that God loves us even with all of our flaws, insecurities, brokenness, giftedness… ALL OF IT. He loves us just as we are.
It also says, “If God is for us, who then can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
So here’s the deal, if the God of the universe, the One who spoke it into being with a word, the One who knit each of us together in our mothers’ wombs, creating us in His image… if THAT God is for us and finds favor in us, why are we afraid of being ourselves?
My hope and challenge to you is that as I share my heart and life with you, you’ll be encouraged to let your guard down and be transparent alongside me for the good of all of us.
